Cerebral hemisphere

  • Each cerebral hemisphere consists of
    1. Cerebral cortex
    2. Basal ganglia or corpus striatum, masses of gray mater embedded within the hemisphere and not visible superficially
    3. The rhinencephalon or olfactory part of the brain in the lower part of hemisphere, portions of which can be seen on the ventral surface are olfactory bulb, striae, trigonum olfactorium and piriform lobe.
